Neighborhood Watch
What Is Neighborhood Watch?
Neighborhood Watch is a crime prevention program that enlists the active participation of the residents of Costa Mesa, in cooperation with the Costa Mesa Police Department. Its purpose is to teach the citizens of Costa Mesa simple crime prevention techniques and provide information concerning crime in their neighborhoods.
What Does It Involve?
- Familiarizing yourself with the activities of your neighborhood, such as which residents work during the day, and which residents and automobiles belong in a particular area
- Training to recognize and report suspicious activity in the neighborhood
- Implementing crime prevention techniques, such as home security and "Operation ID"
- Helping neighbors by keeping a watchful eye on each other's property
Stopping crime is everyone's business. If you want to reduce the odds of becoming a victim in your own home or neighborhood, talk to your neighbors about joining the Costa Mesa Police Department Neighborhood Watch Program.

Everyone who attends the meeting, regardless of the 80-percent turnout requirement, will receive Neighborhood Watch decals for their homes.
