Lieutenant Ciszek began his law enforcement career with the Costa Mesa Police Department in 1984.  During this career, he has had the opportunity to work a variety of assignments and details including: Patrol, South Coast Plaza Detail, Crime Scene Investigation, Training Officer, Detectives, Problem Oriented Policing Sergeant, Jail Sergeant, Professional Standards Unit Sergeant and Administrative Lieutenant.  From 1989-1998, he was a member of the Crisis Negotiation Team.

 

Lieutenant Ciszek has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin, Eau-Claire, and a Master of Arts degree in Public Policy and Administration from California State University, Long Beach.  He is a graduate of the P.O.S.T. Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute.  He also teaches an Administration of Justice class at Mission Viejo High School for Coastline Regional Occupational Program.
