Technical Services

The Technical Services Division is responsible for the Costa Mesa Police Department's support functions, including records administration, crime scene investigation, photographic services, training and recruitment, property and evidence, custody and court liaison services, and building and equipment maintenance.  This division is also responsible for all police department 24-hour computer-related activities associated with the city's public safety computer system.

Technical Services Commander - Scheralee Ford

Commander Ford began her law enforcement career in 1977 and has worked for a number of law enforcement agencies including the Pomona, Anaheim, Hawthorne, and Whittier Police Departments.  During her career, she has worked as an administrative analyst, planning and research analyst, grant administrator, crime analyst, information systems manager, and division commander.  In 2002, she joined the Costa Mesa Police Department as the Technical Services Division commander.

Commander Ford has an Associate of Arts degree from Long Beach City College and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from California State University, Long Beach.
